Important information about our wooden products
-
Natural Properties of Wood
Wood is a natural product that derives its unique character from natural processes. Despite careful material selection, wooden products may exhibit cracks or splits. This is a normal occurrence that does not affect durability or quality. Due to fluctuations in humidity, wood can 'work', which may lead to cracking, splitting, discoloration, warping, shrinking, or expanding. -
Unique Features and Color Variations
Each wooden product is unique. Knots, grains, and color variations are characteristic of wood and contribute to its natural appearance. When engraving wood, color differences may occur, causing the shade of an engraved logo to vary. -
Deviations in Dimensions
Wood is a living material that can react to environmental factors. As a result, wooden products may deviate by a few millimeters from the specified dimensions. -
Wood fibers and Water
When in contact with water, wood fibers may rise, causing the surface to feel rougher. You can easily restore this by lightly sanding the surface with fine sandpaper. -
Composition of the Wood
Our wooden products can consist of a single piece of solid wood or laminated wood. If you specifically desire a product that is made exclusively from one piece of wood, please indicate this in advance. -
Cleaning and Maintenance
Wooden products should not be placed in the dishwasher. Clean them with a lightly damp cloth and dry the product immediately and carefully to prevent moisture absorption.
When the wood dries out, it is advisable to treat the product again with oil, preferably grape seed oil. The frequency of this depends on usage and exposure to dry conditions. -
Wood and Heat
Avoid contact with heat sources such as ovens, cast iron pans, or heat lamps. Heat can damage the adhesive bonds, cause the wood to crack or warp, and accelerate the drying of the material. -
Correct Drying and Sustainable Use
Always dry wooden products thoroughly after use. Do not store them wet, as this can promote the warping of the wood. Preferably store products upright, with the grain vertical, to prevent warping.
With the right care and maintenance, you will enjoy your wooden product for years to come. By paying attention to the natural properties and proper treatment of the wood, your product will retain its quality and beauty.
